With me, please,
If you need a listener.
The insecure and intimate
And self-exposing thoughts
Will not escape the confinements of your trust.
I am not skilled in speaking
Or making small, idle talk.
The words, the expressions
Convey more meaning flowing into my brain
Than they do when I hear the noise
Uselessly leaving my mouth.
I like to listen, relate, and debate.
I like to console, counsel, and empathize.
I even like nodding my head.
Share with me
Anything that goes on in your mind
That would like to come outside.
Let me sit with you,
Let me think, cry, and try to
Have a new perspective.
Make the small talk,
Make the even bigger talk,
Make whatever you wish,
And I will be there.
So please shut me up,
But never shut me out.
I am a listener.
i love this.
