Similarities

For some reason, I have an inexplicable tendency to think that people with a similar taste in music to mine must be people I can relate to and befriend. 

You might say that's a normal tendency or a logical thought process. But it is inexplicable. I don't have the same tendency for any other quality...for example, race or religious views. I don't automatically assume that people with the same religious views as me are naturally more suitable candidates for friendship than if any random person was selected from the population.

But, yes, I'll admit that holds true with music.

So conversely, you  may suppose that I try to adjust my musical tastes to be more like my friends' or that I trust their opinions on music more than other people. And you'd probably be right. I'm biased, but it's not my fault.
